Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what tracking technologies Cool App Company Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") uses in connection with the Decora marketing website at trydecora.com and the Decora iOS application (the "App"), and what choices you have. This policy supplements our Privacy Notice.
1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let the site remember information across visits — for example, that you're logged in or that you prefer a particular language. Cookies set by the site you're visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by another domain whose content is embedded in the page (analytics scripts, ad pixels, video players) are called third-party cookies.
Similar technologies serve the same general purpose as cookies but use different mechanisms:
- Web beacons / pixels — tiny invisible images embedded in a page or email that signal back to a server when loaded.
- Local storage and session storage — browser-side key/value storage with more capacity than a cookie.
- Mobile-OS identifiers — IDs maintained by the operating system rather than the browser. On iOS, the most common are the Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) and the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA, only available with explicit user permission via App Tracking Transparency).
2. Cookies on This Website
As of the Last Updated date above, the Decora marketing website does not set any first-party cookies, and we do not embed any third-party scripts that set cookies — there is no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no advertising tag, and no chat widget on this site.
The site does load typefaces from Google Fonts via a CSS @import. That request does not place cookies on this domain, but it does send your IP address and user-agent string to Google's font-serving servers. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
If we add analytics, marketing, or social-sharing tools to the website in future, we will update this policy and, where required by applicable law, ask for your consent before activating them.
3. Identifiers Used by the iOS App
The Decora iOS App does not use HTTP cookies — cookies are a browser concept. Instead, it relies on iOS-native identifiers and on-device storage:
- App-instance ID. A random identifier we generate on first launch and store inside the App's sandbox. It lets us associate analytics events and saved designs with your install. It is reset if you delete and reinstall the App.
- IDFV (Identifier for Vendor). Provided by iOS. Identical across all apps published by Cool App Company on the same device, and reset when you uninstall the last of our apps.
- IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers). Provided by iOS only if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you do not grant permission, IDFA is unavailable to the App and to any of our SDKs.
- StoreKit transaction identifiers. Returned by iOS when you make an in-App purchase or subscription, and used solely to verify entitlements and process refunds.
4. Third-Party Services We Use in the iOS App
The App integrates the following third-party SDKs. They are provided by independent companies acting as data processors on our behalf:
These SDKs are integrated only into the iOS App. The marketing website does not load them. None of these tools receives cookies from this website.
5. Your Choices
Browser cookies
Even though we don't set any today, you can control cookies in general through your browser. Most browsers let you block all cookies, allow only first-party cookies, or delete existing cookies on demand. The location varies by browser:
- Safari: Settings → Privacy.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
For a neutral overview, see allaboutcookies.org.
iOS App tracking
- Revoke or grant ATT permission for IDFA: open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Decora and toggle "Allow Tracking."
- Reset the advertising identifier (IDFA): Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Reset Identifier.
- Mixpanel opt-out / data deletion: email us at contact@coolappcompany.com and we'll process the deletion with Mixpanel on your behalf.
- Delete the App: uninstalling the App resets the App-instance ID and IDFV (when no other Cool App Company apps remain installed).
Do-Not-Track
See section 10 of our Privacy Notice for our position on browser DNT signals.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add new tools to the website or new SDKs to the App. The updated version will be indicated by a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where the change is material we will provide additional notice (such as an in-App notice or an email). We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically.
